PLEASE BE ADVISED – The Florida State Governor, Rick Scott, most recently stated Hurricane Irma is expected to impact as soon as Saturday, September 9, in the afternoon with a storm surge expected of 3-12 feet around the southern and both east and west coasts with up to 20 inches of rain and 140 mph winds. It is most likely areas of Florida will have no power and limited resources for several days after the storm.

The Florida State Executive and Conference Committee decided unanimously to cancel the conference for September 14-15, 2017 (Education courses September 13) at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island, with no new date scheduled at this time.

We hope that all affiliates and registrants will bear with us as we work through the storm, protecting people and property first. The Florida State Chapter will release a general announcement on Tuesday, September 19th with further details.

We urge all registrants to please contact the Westin Hotel Tampa Harbour Island directly to cancel your room reservations as soon as possible as follows: Please have your attendees contact our central reservations department at 1-800-WESTIN-1 (800-937-8461) to cancel their reservation in the NARPM room block.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify and execute best practices for running a successful and profitable maintenance operation as a compliment to the property management company. Discussions include: options for maintenance company structure; naming the business; knowing when is the right time to start; best hiring practices for finding talented maintenance technicians and training and related personnel issues. The course covers important operational details and potential pitfalls to profitability.
