California requires a licensed broker to sponsor your business (Broker of Record). I’ve been doing exactly that for agents making this move — providing real oversight, DRE compliance support, and guidance toward earning your own broker license, not just a signature on a form.

I started my own PM company in April 2017 the same way, and have since built it into a company managing roughly 250 HOA units and 250 rental units across the Bay Area.

Compensation:
