Lock and Key Property Management was born out of personal experience — first as renters, then homeowners, and eventually, local landlords. Over time, that journey shaped not only how we manage properties, but why we do it.

Like many, we began by signing leases, securing renter’s insurance, and navigating the details of finding a place to call home. Years later, after pouring sweat equity into a first little Hudson Valley home, life grew and changed. Rather than sell, we decided to keep that house and step into the world of property ownership and management.

What started as a personal experiment quickly became a passion. We're a local wife and husband team with roots in client services, real estate, renovations, project management, and more. Our skills are diverse but complimentary. We discovered that not only did we enjoy being local landlords, we were good at it. Through thoughtful processes, careful tenant selection, and genuine care for the homes we managed, we built a small but strong portfolio — housing neighbors who enrich local communities.

Along the way, we noticed a gap. The property management industry often relies on impersonal systems, distant communication, and one-size-fits-all approaches. We wanted something different — something that reflected the personal, attentive care we valued for our own properties.
