During testimony before the House Financial Services Committee this week, HUD Secretary Scott Turner expressed support for the Respect State Housing Laws Act in response to questioning from the legislation’s sponsor, Representative Barry Loudermilk (GA). This legislation would repeal the CARES Act 30-day Notice to Vacate.

H.R.1078, the House version of the Respect State Housing Laws Act has been approved by the House Financial Services Committee. NARPM will continue to push for it to move to the House floor as well as for action in the Senate on S.470, the Senate cognate of this legislation.
