A quick update following yesterday’s post: NARPM® has sent a letter to Members of the House of Representatives expressing our support for the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and encouraging them to vote yes.
As we reported yesterday, the House version of the bill includes two important fixes that NARPM specifically requested — one protecting professional property managers from being misclassified as large institutional investors, and one removing the mandatory divestment requirement for build-to-rent properties. We are pleased with those changes and want House members to know we support moving this bill forward.
The House is expected to vote on the legislation during the week of May 18. We will keep you posted.
